Our reading for today is Isaiah 62-64. God is now ready to change His plan of judgment for Zion (Jerusalem) as we see in chapter 62:4. "No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate, But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah."
Hephzibah means "my delight is in her. Beulah means "married." These names signify that God has renewed His covenant with Jerusalem. It is amazing how God forgives and restores the Jewish people after a time of punishment for their evil lives. When they return to God, He will return to them with many blessings and restores His covenant given to Abraham.
God is saying that He wants to "delight" in Jerusalem and be again married to this land of Israel.
Friends, God is trying to say to us, "I delight in you and want to bind Myself to you in a covenant of "marriage." IF WE ARE IN CHRIST AND COVERED BY JESUS' BLOOD WE ARE JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD!!! God can not see sin if cleansed by the blood of Jesus. We are forgiven of our sins and they are NEVER TO BE REMEMBERED AGAIN BY GOD!!!
WOW, what a glorious relationship we have with God because of Jesus' saving grace!!! May God help us to be truly thankful for our NEW NAME IN JESUS!!!!
